Oprah: yeah, that's a good
scene. People love seeing you together. What was it
like working again together?
Julia:
Bizarre you know, I was like a grown up person this time around. So it
was really kinda bizarre. Like he and Gary sort of stayed the same and I
got taller and.. thinner and.. I was like a different person. You know,
I just talked more, cause when we did "Pretty Woman", it was
just really uhm, listening to everybody else's ideas and being to scared
to really, fully participate verbally. And in this, they just couldn't
shut me up. "oh what about this and what if we tried this and what
if I say this and what if we do this and…" you know.
Oprah:
Now do you get the reputation, I've had this, that happened to me. That
if you're a woman and do that, they say you're a bitch, but when you're
a man and do that, they say : "Aggressive, thank you for those
ideas, for being so assertive, we really appreciate that." Does
that ever happen to you?
Julia:
yeah but uhm... I have really good ideas. (Audience laughs)
Oprah:
so do I. I know. So the question is, are you difficult to work with?
Julia: No, I think I'm
fun.
Oprah:
What would other people say?
Julia:
I think people that have worked with me would say that I'm fun. Yeah,
and people that haven't actually worked with me would say I'm difficult,
cause they're just jealous.
(Audience
laughs, then Julia starts laughing too.)
Oprah:
I first met Julia 11 years ago when she did Steel Magnolias and I
remember thinking at the time, awesome, awesome, awesome. We pulled a
clip from uh, our first interview.
Julia:
oh my God!
Oprah: Yeah, no telling what our hair's gonna
look like
