Kate is the vice president of Oprah's Production Company HARPO. Therefore she is responsible for all movie productions made by the company. Every year HARPO produces two TV movies. They got started with the project "Before Women Had Wings" with Ellen Barkin, Tina Majorino and Oprah herself. The "Oprah Winfrey presents..."-projects are highly successful and have earned many awards so far. HARPO has a special contract with the Disney Studios and under these conditions Kate Forte has developed several movie projects, among other things she has also worked on the film version of Toni Morrison's last novel "Paradise".
